Aaaahhhh, feels so good to be back! What’s up y’all? What’s going on? What’s tea? First, happy EXTRA-belated new year. I hope all of you are sticking to your new year’s resolutions, I hope your skin is poppin’, and that you’ve just been flourishing beautifully!
I know, I know, I’ve been “ghost” for like 4-months but, allow me to explain why. Self-care is such an important aspect of just living carefree. Social media plays such a big part in our lives, especially as millennials. I suggest taking a step back from social media and re-centering yourself just to make sure you can still grow and flourish into being your best you. Of course, being someone incredibly addicted to social media (enough to want to make a career), it was difficult for me to step back from the ever-changing world of technology. So, I tried to reduced my daily consumption. So far, it’s been a rewarding decision!
Another reason that I decided to step back from blogging was that I got to a point where I felt like the content I was posting was not my best. I felt like I was doing it just to do it, I didn’t feel truly connected to my writings. Some posts didn’t get my full attention because of the fast-paced life of college. Of course, distance makes the heart grow fonder. I was longing for thebenjamincoy.com and I’m elated that my passion for blogging has resurfaced!
BUT, whatevs I’m back and better than ever! I’ve refocused my purpose and I feel better than ever. Y’all don’t understand how thrilled I am to be writing this post at this moment. Life has already thrown me a few lemons this year and I’m super proud of myself for turning those lemons into a nice tall glass of sweet, yet tangy, lemonade! (Beyonce’ would be proud!)
This week, I’m wearing a super easy spring transition outfit. A caramel colored blazer (thrift), salmon trousers (H&M), a plain white tee, and my favorite velvet blue loafers (Aldo). I decided to spruce up the outfit with a blue lapel pin and a multi-colored handkerchief.
I’m back millennials! Do you like the new layout?
