We’re starting the week off with another fashion blogger Madeline of wearweroam.com from Chicago, Illinois. To check out my interview with her, keep on scrolling. 🙂
What do you do?
“I’m a fashion and lifestyle blogger.”
When did you start your platform?
“I started my blog in June 2016 but went on a bit of a hiatus after three months, so I like to think I didn’t officially start until May of 2017. I had always followed a ton of bloggers and wanted to do it myself but never mustered up enough self confidence to put myself out there like that. I finally launched Wear We Roam after doing an internship with CollegeFashionista that got me more comfortable in front of the camera. Looking back, I feel silly for not starting [Wear We Roam] sooner!”
Who or what inspires you?
“It’s so hard to narrow it down to one person! I feel any self-made, headstrong, driven woman inspires me. Bloggers that come to mind are Arielle Charnas from Something Navy or Mary Seng from Happily Grey. I also love outspoken women like Lena Dunham, but she’s certainly not fashion related! All of these women, while very different, have accomplished so much in their 20s, I can only dream of being half as successful by the time I turn 30.”
What quote do you live by?
“Normal is not something to aspire to, it’s something to get away from.” – Jodie Foster
What’s the name of the soundtrack and why?
“The soundtrack to my life is “Dancing on My Own” by Robyn. ‘Obsessed’ doesn’t even begin to describe my love for this song.”
Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years?
“Hopefully with a full time job as a reporter and continuing to grow my fashion blog on the side! I have big goals for the blog (most having to do with collaborating with brands I love) and I hope that 10 years from now I’ve reached a lot of them. Most importantly, I hope that my blog becomes a place where millennials go when they want affordable inspiration or just need a break from their everyday lives because that’s what I’ve always looked for in other bloggers.”
What would you like potential consumers to know about you?
“I’m really in tune with the needs (and budgets) of the average millennial. I’m all about affordable, budget friendly options and I hope my blog is a good representation of how to stay on-trend and in-budget!”
