Creator’s Spotlight: Naa-Shorme

Happy Wednesday!

This next creator is from one of the liveliest cities on earth, New Orleans, LA. She’s a blogger who’s voice shines light and bright on issues that we are all facing today in society. Here’s my interview with her:

When did you start your platform? Why?

“I started my platform 6 months ago, because I got tired of dead-end conversations about race, specifically frustrated with the many instances of police brutality and as a teacher also wanted young people to learn the power of their voice in order to not feel helpless in today’s society. So the site today has a combination of social justice, self-love and pop culture pieces.”

What quote do you live by?

“Go further, go harder. Is that not why we came? ‘Cause if not then why bother?” – Jay Z

What is the soundtrack to your life?

“The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill”

Where do you see yourself in the next 5-10 years?

“I will be continuing my impact on urban education in America but stronger.”

What would you like potential consumers to know about you?

“I believe that words are life. As an educator and as a writer, I see daily how we create the lives we want with our words whether written or spoken. My “bible-toting-mama” always said that the power of life lies within the tongue and I can see that very much in my adult life. Hence, this site’s aim is to use words to move toward solutions, to heal and to empower millennials of color and high school students with some uplifting content in the process.”
