Here are my back-to-school looks for the first week of sophomore year! (Let’s see how long it’ll be before I start wearing sweatpants and t-shirts on the regular.)
On Monday, I decided to go for a preppy/collegiate look. To accomplish this look, I wore a black collard shirt with the Bethune-Cookman logo (Cookman Bookstore), black slacks (H&M), tan dress shoes (Perry Ellis), and to complete the look I draped my shoulders with a maroon cardigan (Forever 21).
Tuesday is more of a busier day for me so, I wanted to be comfortable yet stylish. So, I paired my favorite multi-colored pastel button down shirt (Thrifted), with medium washed denim jeans (Forever 21), a light heather gray cardigan (Ross), gray suede tennis shoes (Puma), silver tinted sunglasses (Cotton On), and a caramel colored backpack (High Sierra).
At most HBCUs Wednesdays are more than just Fried Chicken Wednesday. The hump-day also serves as professional dress day. With that being said, I decided to pull out my favorite gray suit (Beverly Hills Polo Club), tan dress shoes (Perry Ellis), purple button down shirt (Men’s Warehouse), and gold trimmed multi-colored/shaped pocket handkerchief (JCPenny’s). Also, meet my best friend Joy (@j0ytheufo). She’s serving businesswoman with her off-white high collar blouse (New York and Company), paired with dark khaki tapered pants (Forever 21), and tan open toed wedges (Forever 21).
Thursday, again is a hectic day, so comfort is always a must! I opted for a simple heather gray Henley t-shirt (Cotton On), a blue and green plaid over shirt (Thrifted), royal blue trousers (Forever 21), and royal blue tennis shoes (Puma).
